Nope! SSA is a federal agency, which means lawyers from all over the country can help you. Since the pandemic, both lawyers and the SSA are able to provide virtual services. You should optimize for the best lawyer for your case, not just whoever is local. If you need to meet in person or do a hearing in person, a good lawyer (and all Atticus lawyers) will come to you.
